Homeless Prevention Rent Assistance
This program provides rent assistance to households at risk for homelessness due to a temporary hardship. Additional services provided include information and referral to community resources, assistance with landlord negotiations, and housing counseling.The amount of the assistance is based on household need but is generally the equivalent of one month of rent. Rent assistance services are administered collaboratively between the RPC, City of Champaign Township, and Cunningham Township.
If you are experiencing a hardship that puts your household at risk for eviction, download the Homeless Prevention/Temporary Hardship Rent Assistance application and follow the instructions for completing and submitting it. You can also obtain an application at the RPC in Urbana, the East Central Illinois workNet Center, and the Community Services Center in Rantoul.
