On May 21, 2021, RPC staff closed the Landlord Referral portion of the Emergency Rent Assistance (ERA) program.
The RPC’s Community Services division is in the process of contacting Champaign County landlord referred tenants who have unpaid rent charges of no less than $4,000 for the period of April 2020 through May 2021 to schedule on-site intake appointments and complete the required ERA application process. On-site appointments will be completed no later than June 15, 2021. ERA staff will process completed applications through June 30, 2021. As a reminder, face masks are still required for all visitors to RPC offices.
As the application review process is completed, applicants will be advised of their assistance approvals by phone and e-mail throughout this time frame. Tenant/landlord telephone and/or on-site status inquiries are discouraged.
It is anticipated that tenant-initiated applications for ERA will launch in July 2021. Information regarding the application process will be posted on this page.
