Transportation Assistance

We are not currently accepting applications for Transportation Assistance (as of December 1, 2022). We have received a large number of requests for assistance and the program funding is limited. If program funding remains after the applications received through November 30 have been processed, we will re-open the program for applications. Please check back in February 2023 for an update.

The RPC’s Transportation Assistance program helps Champaign County households preserve independent means of transportation as a way of eliminating potential barriers to obtaining or maintaining employment.

When funding is available, the RPC will provide eligible households with assistance to address vehicle repairs, financial assistance towards auto insurance, an annual bus pass for public transportation, and/or financial assistance to purchase or repair a bicycle.

Eligibility Guidelines

Individuals eligible for the Transportation Assistance program include those those who are employed or actively seeking employment and currently receiving SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid benefits; or able-bodied adults without dependents who have been kicked off SNAP due to benefit time limits within the past nine months.
