Goal   The CUUASP goal is to consistently reduce the number of fatalities and injury severities using a data-driven, strategic approach that includes education, enforcement, engineering, and emergency response.

2018 Positive Rating There were 4 impaired driving-related fatalities in 2018 in the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA), an increase from 3.6 fatalities in 2017 (5-year rolling average). The 5-year rolling average decreased 11 percent from 2017 (2013-2017) to 3.2 fatalities in 2018 (2014-2018), which is lower than the 2018 objective (3.4) needed for achieving a 5 percent annual reduction by 2025. Positive rating.
2019 Neutral Rating There were 2 impaired driving-related fatalities in 2019 in the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA), a decrease from 3.6 fatalities in 2017 (5-year rolling average). The 5-year rolling average decreased 5.55 percent from 2017 (2013-2017) to 3.4 fatalities in 2019 (2015-2019), which is higher than the 2019 objective (3.2) needed for achieving 5 percent annual reduction by 2025. Neutral rating.
2020 Positive Rating There was no impaired driving-related fatality in 2020 in the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA), a decrease from 3.6 fatalities in 2017 (5-year rolling average). The 5-year rolling average decreased 16.7 percent from 2017 (2013-2017) to 3.0 fatalities in 2020 (2016-2020), which is lower than the 2020 objective (3.04) needed for achieving 5 percent annual reduction by 2025. Positive rating.
2021 Positive Rating There was 1 impaired driving-related fatality in 2021 in the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA), a decrease from 3.6 fatalities in 2017 (5-year rolling average). The 5-year rolling average decreased 44.4 percent from 2017 (2013-2017) to 2.0 fatalities in 2021 (2017-2021), which is lower than the 2021 objective (2.93) needed for achieving a 5 percent annual reduction by 2025. Positive rating.
