Goal   The Champaign-Urbana area will aim to improve overall residential quality of life and health
Objective   Eliminate collisions between trucks and pedestrians and bicyclists by 2025.
Performance Measure   Total number of collisions between trucks and pedestrians and bicyclists (five-year rolling average) in the MPA
2017 Positive Rating There was no trucks and pedestrians and bicyclists crashes in 2017 in the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA). The 5-year rolling average decreased 25 percent from 0.8 pedestrian or bicyclist involved heavy-vehicle crash in 2016 (2012-2016) to 0.6 pedestrian or bicyclist involved heavy-vehicle crash in 2017 (2013-2017). Positive rating.
2018 Positive Rating There was no trucks and pedestrians and bicyclists crashes in 2018 in the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA). The 5-year rolling average decreased 25 percent from 0.8 pedestrian or bicyclist involved heavy-vehicle crash in 2016 (2012-2016) to 0.6 pedestrian or bicyclist involved heavy-vehicle crash in 2018 (2014-2018). Positive rating.
2019 Negative Rating There were 3 trucks and pedestrians and bicyclists crashes in 2019 in the Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA). The 5-year rolling average remained unchanged for 2019 (2015-2019) with respect to 2016 (2012-2016), which was still higher than the 2019 objective (0.3) needed for achieving trucks and pedestrians and bicyclists collisions elimination by 2025. Negative rating.
