Staley/Rising Road Corridor Study

The Staley/Rising Corridor Study was undertaken using grant funding from the Illinois Tomorrow Corridor Planning Grant Program. The $180,000 grant was awarded to the City of Champaign in 2005, which was matched with $20,000 from the City of Champaign , Champaign County Highway Department, Hensley Township , and the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission.

The study evaluated and made recommendations for transportation and land use development for the next 20 years. The study area was bounded by Barker Road to the west, Interstate 57 to the east, Hensley Road to the north, and Old Church Road to the south. Approved 2009.
