Objective   Reduce the five-year rolling average of number of fatalities due to intersection crashes by 2 percent annually (from 3 to less than 3) by 2025 based on 2016 in the rural Champaign County area.

2017 Positive Rating There were 2 intersection fatalities in 2017 in the rural area, a decrease from 3.4 fatalities in 2016 (5-year rolling average). The 5-year rolling average decreased 6 percent from 2016 (2012-2016) to 3.2 fatalities in 2017 (2013-2017), which is lower than the 2017 objective (3.3) needed for achieving a 2 percent annual reduction by 2025. Positive rating.
2018 Negative Rating There were 5 intersection fatalities in 2018 in the rural area, an increase from 3.4 fatalities in 2016 (5-year rolling average). The 5-year rolling average in 2018 didn’t change from 2016, which is still higher than the 2018 objective (3.2) needed for achieving a 2 percent annual reduction by 2025. Negative rating.
2019 Positive Rating There was no intersection fatality in 2019 in the rural area, a decrease from 3.4 fatalities in 2016 (5-year rolling average). The 5-year rolling average decreased 29.4 percent from 2016 (2012-2016) to 2.4 fatalities in 2019 (2015-2019), which is lower than the 2019 objective (3.2) needed for achieving 2 percent annual reduction by 2025. 2020 Positive Rating There was 1 intersection fatality in 2020 in the rural area, a decrease from 3.4 fatalities in 2016 (5-year rolling average).
