What we do
Our Planning and Community Development Division is a diverse team of professionals dedicated to making a positive impact on Champaign County's future. We work on a wide range of initiatives, including policy analysis, comprehensive planning, demographic studies, economic development, environmental assessments, geospatial information management, and technical analysis.
Many of our services are delivered through contractual agreements or are funded and governed by intergovernmental agreements. Some functions are directly funded by our RPC membership. Additionally, we extend our expertise beyond Champaign County through contract-based programs. In such cases, we add a 10 percent overhead charge to ensure that Champaign County programs remain financially self-sustaining, preventing the cross-subsidization of services provided outside the county with county resources. With a focus on excellence, we are committed to shaping a better and more sustainable future for our community.
