CUUATS Technical and Policy Committee News Items, February 2024

Thirteen Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendments Proposed

The Illinois Department of Transportation, City of Urbana, and the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District submitted 13 amendments to the Transportation Improvement Program FY 2023-2028 which will be presented for approval at the CUUATS Technical and Policy Committee meetings on February 7th and February 14th, respectively, at 10:30AM in the John Dimit Conference Room at the Brookens Administrative Center.

Draft Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) for FY 2025

The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), formerly called the Unified Technical Work Program (UTWP), identifies the annual transportation planning activities to be undertaken by the Champaign Urbana Urbanized Area Transportation Study (CUUATS). The Draft UPWP for fiscal year 2025 (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025) will be presented for approval to the CUUATS Technical and Policy Committees on February 7th and February 14th, 2024, respectively. The draft document will be available for public review and comment from Thursday, February 15 to Friday, March 16, 2024, online. Anyone may review the document and submit comments/edits to Rita Morocoima-Black, RPC Planning and Community Development Director.

Federal Highway Safety Performance Measure (TAM and Transit Safety) Targets for 2024

Transit Asset Management (TAM) and Transit Safety targets are set by the transit agency (Champaign-Urbana Metro Transit District) in coordination with the Metropolitan Planning Organization (CUUATS) annually. The proposed TAM and Transit Safety targets will be presented for review and approval at the CUUATS Technical and Policy Committees on February 7th and February 14th, 2024, respectively.
