CUUATS Technical and Policy Committee News Items, April 2024

Eleven Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Amendments Proposed

The Illinois Department of Transportation and the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District submitted 11 amendments to the Transportation Improvement Program FY 2023-2028 which will be presented for approval at the CUUATS Technical and Policy Committee meetings on April 3 and April 10, respectively, at 10:30AM in the John Dimit Conference Room at the Brookens Administrative Center.

 

Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) for FY 2025

The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP), formerly called the Unified Technical Work Program (UTWP), identifies the annual transportation planning activities to be undertaken by the Champaign Urbana Urbanized Area Transportation Study (CUUATS). The Draft UPWP for fiscal year 2025 (July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025) will be presented for final approval to the CUUATS Technical and Policy Committees on April 3 and April 10, respectively, at 10:30AM in the John Dimit Conference Room at the Brookens Administrative Center. The draft document passed the required 30-day public review period with no comments.

 

Draft 2024 CUUATS Title VI Program

The Draft 2024 CUUATS Title VI Program is a document required every three years by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) that ensures CUUATS compliance with the Title VI provisions of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Without an updated Title VI Program, federal funding for area highway and transit projects and planning initiatives in the Champaign-Urbana area will not be received. The Draft 2024 Title VI Program will be presented for approval to the CUUATS Technical and Policy Committees on April 3 and April 10, respectively, at 10:30AM in the John Dimit Conference Room at the Brookens Administrative Center. The draft document will be available online for public review and comment from Monday, April 15 through Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Anyone may review the document and submit comments/edits to Rita Morocoima-Black, RPC Planning and Community Development Director.
