Two RPC Early Childhood Education Centers Receive Prestigious Designation

ExceleRate Illinois, a quality rating and improvement system that helps accelerate excellence in early learning and development in the State of Illinois, has designated the West Champaign and Urbana Early Childhood Education Centers with its Silver Circle of Quality.

“Achieving this designation demonstrates your program’s commitment to providing quality care to Illinois’ children,” commented ExceleRate Illinois Specialist Jeanette Eidson. “ExceleRate Illinois unifies all our state’s early learning programs under a common set of standards across multiple delivery settings and supports programs that integrate and sustain best practices, while publicly recognizing your program’s achievement towards higher quality.”

The Silver Circle of Quality recognizes completion of a rigorous self-assessment and implementation of a continuous quality improvement process, as verified by an independent assessor. Silver Circle programs meet or exceed specific quality benchmarks on learning environment and instructional quality, along with selected administrative standards, qualifications, and professional development.

The designation lasts for three years, after which the program will need to reapply and demonstrate that all standard requirements are being met.

ExceleRate Illinois provides a process for pursuing quality efforts that will help early childhood education providers learn more, do better, and improve developmental skills among the children they impact. It also provides standards, guidelines, resources, and supports to help providers make sensible changes that lead to better quality outcomes. Most importantly, the program helps providers accelerate excellence in early learning and development in the State of Illinois.
