RPC Welcomes State Senator Paul Faraci to Indoor Climate Research and Training Headquarters

State Senator Paul Faraci visits the classroom at ICRTThe RPC was honored to host State Senator Paul Faraci at the ICRT headquarters in Champaign on January 25. ICRT staff provided the Senator and his staff with background on their important work and how they ended up becoming the RPC’s newest division.

ICRT Director Paul Francisco and Assistant Director Education Lori Shupe first provided details on what ICRT does, what the program will be able to accomplish now that it has joined the RPC, and ICRT’s impact and work with Weatherization programs throughout the state.

Also included in the Senator’s visit was a blower door demonstration by Weatherization Trainer VaShawn Johnson, a look at IR cameras with Senior Weatherization Trainer Nate Price, and the chance to sit in with a class being conducted on-site that day, with help from Affiliate Trainer Randy Bennett, Weatherization Trainer Mike Hunter, and Weatherization Trainer Gary Duden. Senator Faraci was also shown plans for a potential new ICRT facility and how it could help make Champaign County the premier training destination in the country.
